No Glory For Murder (NGFM) is a movement asking that all matter of media make a simple pledge: respectful responsible, reporting.

• NGFM believes that too much media effectively celebrates horrible crimes and the dirt bag perpetrators through gratuitous broadcasting about murders and murderers and other violent crimes and criminals, including terrorists.

• NGFM believes this practice is irresponsible, and that it encourages copycat criminals, traumatizes victims and their families and friends, and also traumatizes and desensitizes the viewing public.

• NGFM believes that excessive reporting about the life, thoughts, writings, rants, images, videos, postings, manifestoes, habits and other details of murderers only serves to glorify the criminals and their crimes and has no redeeming value.

• NGFM believes that reporting on murders and other violent crimes should be fact-based rather than a frenzied paparazzi style tell-all. Broadcast reports about murderous crimes should NOT be sensationalized, they should provide clear factual information that also respects the privacy of victims and their family and friends and never glorifies murderers.

• NGFM believes minimal imagery should be used in covering murder and murderer stories when the perpetrator is in custody. In the event a suspect is still at large, reporting should focus on aiding apprehension, and public safety information. This would include wide and diverse distribution of suspect images.

• NGFM believes that broadcast and other 'live image and live audio media' has a responsibility to the public NOT to subject their audience to passive automatic playing of disturbing and unwanted imagery and audio. If individuals wish to view detailed information and images on their own, web based resources similarly should not auto-play, but feature a click to play option preferably with an appropriate disclaimer.
